1. The Facebook global numbers

Today there are nearly 1.4 billion users that are spread all around the world. It connects different cultures and allows us to share with family and friends in real time.

The USA and Canada is now just a sub-set of the Facebook global family.

  • Asia Pacific is the largest at 449 million
  • Europe has another 301 million

2. The Facebook ecosystem

In the Facebook ecosystem there are apps and apps.  From messaging apps including WhatsApp and Messenger, to visual apps like Instagram and even Occulus. Occulus is the virtual reality technology that Facebook bought for $2 billion just over 12 months ago.

Their numbers are also large by any measure.

  • Instagram with 300 million+ users
  • W1hatsApp with 700 million
  • Facebook messenger has 600 million users

3. Facebook historical facts

Facebook was launched on February 4, 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg and his Harvard College roommates Initially called Facemash, then Thefacebook.

Originally only open to Harvard students. In March 2004, Facebook expanded to the universities of Columbia, Stanford, and Yale. It later gradually opens to most universities in the United States and Canada

On September 26, 2006, Facebook was opened to everyone at least 13 years old with a valid email address

4. How to get thousands of fans

Facebook offers a self-service ad platform which you can use to either increase your fan base (promote your page), boost your posts, get more leads, increase conversions or perform a number of other actions (as shown in the image above).

Another easy solution is to use social media marketing tools that helps customers get Facebook likes, Twitter Followers, Instagram Followers, and YouTube views.
We recommend Alphalikes.com since it offers a larger than average number of packages and services. Alphalikes can increase the reach, mentions, and page activity of your personal Facebook page and provides free Facebook likes as well.
On the web there are many positive reviews, a good indicator of the quality of their services. If you want to read more, check their blog.

5. The Difference Between a Random Follower and an Engaged Follower

There are some who say 50 engaged followers is better than 500 unengaged followers.

Some of your followers will be engaged, reading and valuing your updates, occasionally replying, retweeting, commenting and Liking. Others will just skim through your updates as they appear in their feed.

There is no way to avoid an unengaged follower (not that you should). Specifically on Twitter, there are people who will blindly follow thousands of people all in the hopes for a follow back.

The good news is you can convert an unengaged follower (or fan) into an engaged follower (or fan) by updating valuable information. We’ll get into that a little later.
